It is no longer a secret that social media happens to be one of the best ways to grow your business today. As per the latest consensus, there are more than 4.5 billion active users on Social Media which accounts for about half of the world population. There was a point in time when it was only used by people as a means for recreation where they would connect with people around the globe and share snippets from their lives but now it has paved a way for people to establish their businesses and earn a decent living. With the fast-changing trends, it has more or less become mandatory for people to set up business accounts on social media platforms like Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram since it is one of the cheapest, easiest, yet fastest ways to reach potential customers and expand businesses worldwide.
Over the years, I have realised that not only does it increase and build brand awareness but is also capable of forming a real human connection between the buyer and the seller. Authenticity, reliability, and credibility are essential to running any kind of venture and it would not be wrong to say that people do feel a sense of hesitation when it comes to buying a product or service online. However, when we as business owners put in an effort to make our digital presence an embodiment of all these three values, then there is no way for the customer to feel a sense of skepticism.
When I look at social media, what I see is a source of entertainment which is why creating relevant and good content is absolutely indispensable. Posting engaging stories, reels, and videos on a regular basis is actually helping creators and businesses increase traffic, generate leads, and earn a steady income. It is also being used as a way to divert attention thereby driving traffic towards other digital platforms like websites, blogs, etc. With the latest features on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, we can even boost our posts and create advertisements for promotions to reach a larger audience.
Undeniably, social media is centred around satiating our appetite for visual content and so are we consuming the same on a daily basis. Similarly, Architecture and Interior Design, as a field in science and arts is about visual pleasure, and aesthetics, which is why it fits into the overall dynamic and purpose of social media platforms especially Instagram, and Pinterest. However, this is not just where the story ends because it allows you to have a global presence, create job opportunities in the market, connect with other designers, architects, vendors, suppliers, labor contractors, and most importantly form a rock-solid customer base. Despite being a cut-throat competition out there, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that social media, knowingly or unknowingly is helping build an entire network or community of people who are helping each other one way or the other. From where I see it, social media has definitely been a game-changer as far as creating opportunities is concerned and now it’s up to us if we grab and make the most of it or not.
